Collaborative Arts Grants: These grants support collaborative projects between artists working in different media.  They are offered by the Vice Provost for the Arts and the Council for the Arts, and are open to faculty of all ranks.  Collaborators on the projects may include any Duke faculty and instructional staff as well as professional artists inside and outside of Duke.

Visiting Artist Grants: These grants support projects that will enrich the life of the university and broader community, augment the curricular efforts of a range of departments and programs, facilitate the interaction of artists and scholars, foster the reputation of Duke as a place where the arts are vital and diverse, and contribute to the arts as a whole.  They are offered by the Vice Provost for the Arts and the Council for the Arts, and require a period of residency at Duke and a teaching component.  Any program, department, or unit at Duke may apply; individual artists (whether Duke-affiliated or not) are not eligible to apply on their own behalf.

The Office of Research Support: ORS serves as the grants-and-contracts office for the campus (i.e., non-Medical Center) components of Duke University, with responsibility for all pre-award activities, as well as certain post-award activities. Broadly, its role is to facilitate the funding process by providing information on and assuring compliance with both sponsor and University policies and procedures.

The Office of Research Administration: ORA is responsible for supporting investigators and administrators in the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing by managing externally sponsored research projects through the pre-award process. ORA maintains a webpage, “Funding Opportunities,” which contains a searchable database of grants, awards, and scholarships.
