As Interdisciplinary Studies continues to grow, so does the institutional support surrounding it. Duke was the first in the nation to appoint a full-time Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies, in 1998, and is continuing that leadership through the new Office of Interdisciplinary Program Management. New funding opportunities for interdisciplinary activities are also being created, such as the Provost’s Common Fund small grants, which begin in fall 2008.
